Nahargarh
“A hilltop Jaipur fort said to have been built only after the restless spirit of a Rathore prince, Nahar Singh Bhomia, was appeased with a temple in his name.”
A place with a memory.
Commanding the steep crest of the Aravalli ridge directly above the Pink City, Nahargarh ('Abode of Tigers') formed a formidable defensive triad alongside Amer Fort and Jaigarh. Commissioned in 1734 by the astronomer-king Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II, the fort's construction was repeatedly plagued by nocturnal collapses attributed to the spirit of Prince Nahar Singh Bhomia.
